Changes for this year: 1. All Registration needs to be done online by email this year. Emails must be received by 10pm Monday, the Monday prior to the quiz meet. Rob’s email Address is reckdc@verizon.net or call @ 304-465-1858. 2. The Cost for all teams participating will be $15/team across the board. 3. The November quiz this year will be held at 4. The district teams will be chosen a little differently this year for our regional quiz tournament. We will be taking 4 teams once again. However your participation on those teams will be determined much differently. In order that our best quizzers rise to the top and make the best team possible, we will be having a Top 20 Quiz-off on a separate day of quizzing. We will quiz 3 rounds, and reshuffle with top 10 and bottom 10. After the 6 rounds, we will determine the 4 teams. Quizzers 1-5 will be on the 1st team, and so on. At this point we will then have lunch, organize and set practice dates and times, etc. We will try and do our best to make sure that we have a full 20 people to participate this year. We will determine on the day of team finals who is willing to go to Your participation in the Top 20 individual quiz will be determined by your average for 6 quiz meets throughout the year. Your average combined for Sept.-Nov. will be one score added to your average combined for Jan.-March will determine your overall average and your place in the Top 20 from which then you will quiz 6 rounds for your placement on the district teams.*Please note that if you don’t attend Tri-state it will not hurt your overall average, but it could help. 5. All quiz meets will start with an opening meeting @ 9am. This will quickly be followed by quizzing at 9:30. It is very important that you send in your registration to me early. Just showing up the day of the quiz may cause a little confusion and I won’t be able to guarantee that you will be able to quiz as schedules/ officials/ rooms will be determine by the number of registered teams. 6. Awards this year will be a little different too, in order to cut down on costs. The cut on costs will be so that we may be able to do other things as a district quizzing program. This year we will be taking a district All-Star team to the St. Louis Quiz Invitational on Dec. 5-6. This is a GBQ like event for district teams only. The determination of those 5-6 individuals will be determined by a top 10 quiz off at the October quiz. This is the only way I can determine in time to be able to arrange things for our district properly. We will take five, possibly six quizzers. I would like to be able to keep our required hotel rooms down to 4 or 5 at the most. Rob's contact information: | |
